Sarapee

(Mammea siamensis Kosterm.)

Thought to have originated in Thailand where the trees have been planted to ward off evil spirits. The flowers are grown for market as well as the fruit. It is also used as an herb in Thai medicine.

All parts of the tree are often under study in pharmaceutical research.
