XIMENIA AMERICANA - Tallow Wood, Seaside Plum
A short shrub or small tree from Africa, with long, vine-like,
thorny branches; its growth habit is regulated by its care and
environment. It has small yellow, fragrant flowers that develop
into small, round, yellow fruit which are edible raw or cooked.
In quantity, they are purgative. The large seed contains a nut-like
kernel that can be roasted. Propagated by seed or cutting.
