Ad Inserts: We can accommodate inserts fastened in with removable gum or can poly-bag promotional material (flat only) as a “ride-along” item packaged along with the magazine. Call the Fruit Gardener editor at 318-640-4505 (Central Time Zone, US) or send email to the editor at asking about additional cost; insertion, bagging work and materials as well as the added per-piece mailing weight must be considered. Advance payments for insertions in multiple issues or for a single ride-along will be discounted 5%.

Guidelines: The Fruit Gardener editor will design and prepare ads without additional charge for advertisers who commit to at least 6 insertions. Customer-supplied art must be prepared in exactly the dimensions shown above, and is subject to evaluation in terms of technical acceptability and reasonable esthetics. Ad material must be provided in electronic formats that are in keeping with printing industry standards, in one of these graphic formats: Encapsulated PostScript (eps), “Press Quality” Portable Document Format (pdf), Tagged Image File Format (tif) or JPEG Format (jpg). Bitmap files (in general all of the above except eps files) must have a minimum pixel density of 300 pixels per inch when displayed in the size at which they are expected to appear on the printed page. Files created using Microsoft Word or other proprietary word processing or spreadsheet formats will be refused unless the submitter states his or her understanding that the only thing which will be used from such materials is the text that they contain. Ads submitted at the wrong size may be rejected at the editor’s discretion if not replaced with the correct size ad within 1 business day.

Due Dates: In general, advertisers must commit in writing to a specific amount of ad space well before a given ad or series of ads appears. Four to six weeks prior the the cover date in which the ad will (first) is most desirable because it helps ensure that a given ad can be accommodated without undue difficulty, especially larger ads. Advertisers must further be prepared to respond to billing by email and to submit payment for an ad or series of ads 30 days after the cover date in which the ad will (first) appear.

Notes: Extensions of deadlines are granted only by special request. If ads require production work by the editor, ad copy and resource materials must be submitted electronically within 3 business days of the time the advertiser commits. A maximum of 1 working proof and 1 final proof will be furnished via email in pdf format only, and for each proof an evaluation and response is required within 1 business day. Changes other than typographic corrections will not be accepted after materials due date except by prior arrangement with the editor.
